Heavy Equipment Operator

About the role
The primary function is to operate a variety of heavy equipment at the worksite to construct, maintain, or repair highway, heavy civil, or building structures. Equipment operators are also expected to assist in other duties around the jobsite as needed, operating equipment in compliance with company safety policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Operate a variety of equipment to complete tasks such as clearing land, trimming backfill, and moving or transporting materials like dirt, rocks, and other aggregates.
- Knowledge of operating procedures for loading and unloading materials.
- Perform daily safety and maintenance checks; oil, grease, service, and make normal maintenance adjustments on equipment.
- Complete required paperwork and documentation.
- Work in conditions involving vibration, jolts, loud noise, and potential exposure to adverse weather.
- Perform other related duties as required, including standing, bending, kneeling, or sitting for long periods.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of operating experience preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must work in adverse weather conditions as required.
- Comply with all safety policies and procedures; communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors.
- Strong work ethic and desire to learn.
- Good manual dexterity.
- Pass a pre-employment drug screening.
