Heavy Equipment Operator

What to Expect with this Position:

• Located in Greensburg, IN
• Schutte Excavating focuses on Community Development Block Grant Projects, Storm Sewer Projects, General Construction Management, Concrete Construction, Site Development
• Equipment Operator position requires proficiency in excavators, backhoes, dozers, reading and interpreting blueprints, providing material lists and equipment needs for projects
• Must be experienced in site development including pipe laying, grading, foundation/footings, and general concrete work
• Dependability is crucial; responsible for performing tasks safely, interacting professionally with co-workers and customers, maintaining quality workmanship, understanding project schedules, and lifting heavy objects (25+ lbs)
• Physical demands may include standing for long periods, working in various weather conditions, lifting heavy objects (25+ lbs), and working outside the piece of equipment from time to time
• Required to hold a valid driver's license

• Specific projects include commercial projects like laying sewer and sanitary pipes, running water lines, and concrete work (sidewalks, curbs, roads, and decorative); also moving dirt and using GPS for grading
• Winter activities include pouring concrete, training and developing employees, and keeping the shop busy on slow days
