Heavy Equipment Operator

About the role

Mirra’s Civil Underground Division is seeking experienced Heavy Equipment Operators to join our team. Your work will involve the installation and maintenance of Electric, Telecommunications, and Natural Gas utilities.

Responsibilities

• Operate and manage heavy equipment, such as backhoes, forklifts, bulldozers, excavators, dump trucks, loaders, and skid steers
• Ensure safe and controlled operation near people, buildings, vehicle traffic, and other underground utilities
• Engage in daily professional interaction with supervisors and crew members
• Support team members on site for daily work activities
• Participate in project planning, jobsite safety analysis, and pre-task planning
• Monitor and manage site safety, keeping it free of unnecessary hazards

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent (preferred)
• Experience in operating heavy equipment, including but not limited to backhoes, forklifts, dozers, excavators, dump trucks, loaders, and skid steers
• Must pass pre-employment random drug screen
• Must pass background and Massachusetts CORI check
• OSHA 10 certification in construction
• Massachusetts 2A license required for Massachusetts work; 2A1C preferred

Pay

Pay is based on experience and skill level, with opportunities to negotiate the pay rate.
