Heavy Equipment Operator

About the role

Hunt Electric, Inc. is seeking a full-time Heavy Equipment Operator to join their team. The ideal candidate will operate excavators, loaders, and digger derricks to build roadway projects, street lighting, underground utilities, and electrical and communication systems.

Responsibilities

• Set vaults and perform light concrete work, including pole foundations.
• Install underground conduit, boxes, vaults, rebar, and pour concrete.
• Work around underground utilities and dig trenches.
• Perform a variety of tasks including manual labor.
• Contribute positively to a team environment.
• Be dependable with regular attendance and adherence to scheduled work hours.
• Other duties or locations as assigned by the Manager.

Requirements

• Class A CDL with no restrictions preferred.
• Experience with installation of electrical or dry utilities.
• Concrete experience a plus.
• Valid driver's license for at least one year with a clean driving record.
• Age 21 or older.

Qualifications

• Experience operating excavators, loaders, and digger derricks.
• Experience with excavation, civil construction, and underground utilities.
• Ability to work well within a team, assisting with all aspects of underground utilities and excavation.
• Knowledge of basic construction equipment and tools such as shovels, sledgehammers, and concrete tools.
• Experience in laying and gluing conduit.
• Ability to perform a variety of tasks including manual labor.

Schedule

This is a full-time position with a typical working schedule of Monday through Thursday from 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM and Friday from 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
