Heavy Equipment Operator

About the role

H 2 O Innovation is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator for a full‑time, permanent position in Gulfport, MS. The primary duty involves operating heavy equipment to clean ditches and ensure proper drainage flow.

Responsibilities

• Perform ditch cleaning to maintain optimal hydraulic and drainage flow.
• Operate a variety of equipment such as excavators, dozers, backhoes, and graders.
• Ensure all daily operations adhere to safety protocols and are executed efficiently.
• Request utility line locates and complies with line locate policies.
• Prepare and submit written reports as required.

Skills

• Valid driver’s license and high school diploma/GED.
• Minimum of 6 months of experience operating excavators, backhoes, dozers, and graders.
• Experience with pipe‑laying in the construction field is advantageous.
• Proficiency in blueprint reading and establishing grade preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to effectively communicate with the public, team members, and supervisors.
• Capable of performing physical tasks in diverse weather conditions.
• Successful candidate must pass a background check which includes criminal background & motor vehicle report checks, as well as drug & alcohol screenings.
