Heavy Equipment Operator

About the role

EMR USA has an opening for a Heavy Equipment Operator in Bayonne. In this role, the equipment operator will operate a material handler or excavator, skid steer, forklift and other equipment to move metal throughout the yard. The Equipment Operator must be able to work independently to accomplish daily tasks.

Responsibilities

• Operate front end loader to safely and efficiently move/load/unload material
• Complete all required daily equipment reports
• Perform daily maintenance and inspection on equipment
• Adhere to operating and health and safety protocols
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds frequently
• Ability to work in all elements such as rain, cold, and heat
• Ability to handle stressful situations, manage time, and multitask
• Ability to pass a criminal background check, physical, and drug screening
• High school graduate or G.E.D.
• Previous experience using a material handler and/or excavator a plus

Working conditions

• Outdoor environment with exposure to all weather conditions
• Near moving mechanical parts
• Loud noise level requiring ear protection
• Required to sit, stand, and walk for long periods
• Frequent bending, kneeling, and standing
• Lifting up to 50 lbs.
