Principal Duties And Responsibilities
- Operates equipment for street maintenance and drainage repairs.
- Mixes and loads stabilized material into dump trucks to be transported to job sites.
- Affords assistance with the setup of barricades and other traffic control around work sites.
- Checks the elevations of ditches and streets to ensure proper drainage and water flow.
- Shovels debris and other materials at job sites to complete tasks and clean-up site.
- Participates in the maintenance and upkeep of equipment and shop areas.
- Reads, measures, and calculates types and sizes of materials needed.
PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
- Work is performed outdoors and requires exposure to inclement weather conditions, potentially dangerous tools, equipment, and machinery, and hazardous chemical.
- May be required to traverse uneven surfaces, climb ladders, and lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED.
- Three (3) years of experience operating heavy equipment; OR equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Class B Commercial Driver’s License with air brake endorsement.
Applicable local, State, and Federal laws, codes, regulations, and ordinances
- Work safety and safety set up policies, procedures, and practices.
- Tools, materials, methods, and equipment used in streets and drainage constructions and maintenance.
- Organizing work and setting priorities to meet deadlines.
- Communicating effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.

- How skilled are you in reading, measuring, and calculating for materials needed for a job?
