Duties
- Maintain and operate various pieces of construction equipment.
- Create berms, ramps and/or roadways, strip, excavate and backfill using heavy equipment.
- Stockpile materials, cut and spread fill materials, push milling materials, sand and aggregate piles, clear trees and other debris.
- Restore pit areas after construction operations are completed.
- Work long hours in adverse conditions including heat, wind, rain and noise.
Requirements
- 6 months Heavy Equipment Operator experience.
- Regular driver license (non-commercial).
Qualifications
Employer will provide optional, free-of-charge lodging and transportation within close proximity to worksites (maximum 20 miles from worksites).
Benefits
- Reimbursement for transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work if the worker completes 50% of the work contract period.
- Payment for reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer or where the employer has appropriately reported a worker's voluntary abandonment of employment.
- Workers will be reimbursed in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government (except passport fees).
- The employer will provide workers at no charge with all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job.
- The employer guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays in each 12-week period of the total employment period.
Pay
Min $36.05 /hr, with an option to earn up to $54.08/hr for overtime after 40 hours per week. Overtime applies after 8 hours per day on state-funded projects in Minnesota.
Schedule
Employment period: April 1, 2026, to November 15, 2026. Work will be performed in multiple locations in Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Northeast Nebraska, and Northwest Iowa. Work is linear and travel to different job sites inside these areas will be required. All job sites are located within the area of intended employment.
