Heavy Equipment Operator

Primary Duties

• Operates all large transportation equipment including the front-end loader, overhead crane, Taylor Big Red (Forklift), Rail King, and Wheeled Material Handler (Sennebogen), to transport raw materials, finished product, and railcars during the steel pipe manufacturing process.
• Transports pipe and steel plates from the production mill, double joint racks, and coating mill from other staging areas as necessary.
• Properly stacks/un-stacks pipe for loading, double jointing, coating or repair.
• Properly stocks steel plates in designated areas.
• Exercises knowledge and safely operates equipment to include weight limits, clearances, and obey all traffic rules within the Port of Panama City.
• Performs routine inspection and preventative maintenance on assigned equipment.
• Ensures all pipe movement is reported and documented.
• Maintain required certifications and licenses.
• Performs area housekeeping tasks.
• Performs other miscellaneous duties and tasks as assigned.

  Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in operating large transposition equipment (Preferred)
  • Heavy industrial manufacturing experience (Preferred)
  • Must be willing to work a rotating shift including days, nights and weekends
