Heavy Equipment Operator
Operate excavator, off-road truck, skid loader, man lift, and extend-a-boom forklift fusion machines for installation of HDPE piping at landfill project sites.
Responsibilities
- Read and follow drawing sets to complete tasks on the project site.
- Follow all maintenance and safety procedures.
- Connect sections of pipe using HDPE welding machines and PVC pipe with glue and primer.
- Maintain and adjust machinery to ensure proper performance.
- Operate off-road trucks and excavators on side slopes.
- Measure materials or objects for installation or assembly.
- Mix substances or compounds needed for work activities.
- Repair or replace defective parts of machinery, such as rotary drill rigs, water trucks, air compressors, and pumps using hand tools.
- Install well heads and valves.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of heavy equipment operation experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proficiently operate hand and foot levers to ensure proper operation of assigned equipment.
- Strong knowledge of safely operating assigned equipment.
- Use time effectively; anticipate obstacles, adjust priorities as needs change, and keep others informed of progress.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, self-motivated, and adaptable in a fast-paced, dynamic, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong written and oral communication.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.

Pay
Current pay range for this position is $33–$35 per hour. Compensation depends on several factors including experience, education, key skills, geographic location of the position, client requirements, external market competitiveness, and internal equity among other employees within APTIM.
