Heavy Equipment Operator

About the role

A Heavy Equipment Operator plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our projects, maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment such as dozers, excavators, and skid steers for tasks including site utilities, pouring concrete, and shooting grade.
• Complete tasks on a construction site according to instructions from project managers and superintendents.
• Cross-function and work in other construction areas within the job site as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Take direction from leaders and management to complete projects safely, timely, and effectively.
• Work in a fast-paced environment to meet customer deadlines.
• Conduct yourself in a positive, respectful manner and communicate honestly with co-workers, supervisors, and managers.
• Work alone or with a team in all weather conditions and perform manual tasks.
• Report concerns, problems, or errors to the supervisor/manager immediately.

Requirements

• Construction experience and willingness to learn to become a valuable company asset.
• Knowledge of construction equipment, materials, and tools.
• Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles (CDL required).
• High school diploma or GED preferred; vocational-technical school/courses in Equipment Technology or equivalent desired.
• Valid driver’s license with dependable transportation.
• Pass a drug screen and background check as required for specific projects.
• Able to occasionally sit; regularly stand, walk, work with hands, lift up to 50 pounds, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Must be organized, a self-starter, dependable, punctual, and work well with others.
• Willing to travel within 100 miles of our home office.
