Heavy Equipment Operator - 2nd Shift

Operate heavy equipment at a recycling facility, landfill, or transfer station to transfer, spread, cover, load, and compact waste or soil efficiently and safely.

Responsibilities

  • Perform pre- and post-operation inspection of equipment to ensure windows, lights, mirrors, and rear view camera are clean.
  • Safely and efficiently operate equipment such as forklifts, excavators, bulldozers, front-end loaders, and other machinery using proper safety standards.
  • Continuously monitor waste for evidence of unacceptable materials.
  • Monitor equipment condition to ensure operational readiness and minimize downtime; clean tracks or wheels as needed.
  • Perform and document minor equipment service; refer complex mechanical issues to the Maintenance Shop.
  • Complete Equipment Condition Reports and other necessary documentation; report repairs to supervisor.
  • Follow all required safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensure the shop is clean, serviced, and equipment is stored at the end of each shift.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Two years of prior related experience in heavy equipment operation.
  • One year of prior experience working at sites regulated by OSHA.

Pay

$25.81 per hour

Schedule

2nd Shift – Monday to Saturday, 2:25 PM – 10:55 PM EST
