Responsibilities
- Promote Safety: Take an active role in prioritizing safety throughout the operation for yourself and others at all times in accordance with MSHA and Vulcan standards.
- Repair and Maintain Mobile Equipment: Service, repair, adjust, and test all mobile equipment that operates throughout the plant to maximize performance and limit downtime.
- Inspect Equipment and Material: Inspect all mobile equipment to identify and troubleshoot the cause of errors. Perform repairs as necessary.
- Handle and Move Objects: Handle, install, position, and move parts, materials, and industrial hand tools safely throughout the shop and plant.
- Document and Record Information: Ensure correct and accurate documentation is completed daily and monthly for all mobile equipment. Maintain service reports in written or electronic form.
- Operate Equipment: Assist in driving heavy equipment and vehicles throughout the plant to ensure efficient production.
- Perform General Physical Activities: Engage in physical activities requiring whole-body movement, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.
- Additional Responsibilities: Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Previous experience working on diesel or heavy construction equipment is preferred.
- Knowledge of general principles and practices of servicing heavy construction equipment is preferred.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work overtime and extended hours based on customer and company demands.
- Ability to work outside in all types of weather conditions and tolerate exposure to loud noises.
- Mechanical Skills: Knowledge of industrial tools, their uses, and maintenance.

Pay
Experienced candidates will be placed according to the union contract salary scale between $54.00–$56.00 per hour.
