What You'll Do
- Perform all job functions in accordance with federal, state, local, and company safety policies and procedures always.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy-duty machinery, including engines, transmissions, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
- Conduct preventative maintenance to minimize equipment downtime and extend machinery lifespan.
- Utilize sophisticated diagnostic tools and computerized systems to identify and resolve complex mechanical and electrical issues.
- Lead and assist Level I and Level II Heavy Equipment Mechanics, providing guidance, training, and technical support.
- Ensure all work complies with federal, state, local, and company safety policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance activities, and parts used.
- Affix plans and prioritize maintenance schedules to optimize equipment availability and performance.
- Participate in safety meetings and promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
- Troubleshoot complex electrical, hydraulic, and engine systems using computerized diagnostic tools.
- Troubleshoots, diagnoses, and perform repairs utilizing standard (SAE) and metric hand tools, power tools and precision measuring instruments, and diagnostics equipment.
- Performs maintenance and repairs on AC and electrical systems.
- Performs welding and fabrication as needed to repair or modify equipment and components.

Requirements
- A High School Diploma/GED required
- Minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing diesel equipment.
- Able to read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics, operating and maintenance service manuals.
- Working knowledge of equipment operation and associated operating systems.
- Ability to use diagnostic equipment (ie. JPro, ET (Caterpillar), Insight (Cummins)).
- Knowledge of handheld scanning tools and the process of diagnosing vehicles.
- Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to coach, mentor, and develop less experienced team members.
- Proficient computer skills: knowledge of MS Office products, Fleet Management Systems, and E-mail.
- Must provide own hand tools & toolbox.
- Valid driver’s license in state of residence required.
- Ability to travel to company locations up to 50%.
- Ability to support Production Leads in coordinating work and driving team performance.
Physical Demands
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. from floor to waist height.
- Ability to carry minimum of 50 lbs. over a 5-foot span.
- Ability to push / pull a minimum of 50 lbs. across a 10-foot span.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 20 lbs. from waist to shoulder.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to bend or twist body without restriction.
- Ability to kneel, stoop, crouch, or crawl.
- Ability to work in extreme weather, including but not limited to high heat, low temperature, and high sun environments.
