Heavy Equipment Mechanic

SKB Environmental, a Waste Connections company, is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our growing team in Rosemount, MN. We foster a culture of integrity, respect, and empowerment where self‑directed All‑stars know their work matters.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and assigned preventative maintenance services.
• Perform inspections, diagnosis, and repair of electrical, hydraulics, suspension brake and air systems on heavy equipment.
• Utilize vehicle computer electro systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs.
• Complete required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing heavy equipment, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
• Conduct safety checks on equipment.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.
• Work in extensive physical activity, including strenuous work, heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling of objects over 60 pounds.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Sometimes work in awkward or tight positions and handle greasy or dirty tools.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1+ years’ experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities (preferred); entry‑level graduates considered.
• Welding/fabrication experience.
• Knowledge of hydraulic repairs.

Pay

$41–$50 per hour, depending on experience.

Schedule

Typically 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with occasional overtime.
