Work Requirements

  • Performs inspection, maintenance and repairs on heavy duty equipment and vehicles, such as: trucks, trailers, forklifts, backhoes, skidders, lulls, dump trucks, etc.
  • Responsible for diesel engines, transmissions, brake systems, electrical trouble shooting, steering, cooling systems, etc.
  • Keeps track of all maintenance and work completed via: phone, email, text, and hard copy paperwork.
  • Does routine maintenance on equipment and trucks, such as: changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment, etc.
  • Repairs or replaces malfunctioning components, parts, and other mechanical or electrical equipment, etc.
  • Dismantles and reassembles heavy equipment using hoists and hand tools.
  • Diagnostics faults or malfunctions to determine required repairs, using engine diagnostic equipment such as computerized test equipment and calibration devices.
  • Tests mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers' specifications.
  • Fits bearings to adjust, repair, or overhaul mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
  • Assembles gear systems, and aligns frames and gears.
  • Fabricates needed parts or items from sheet metal or other materials.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Ability to work in extreme outdoor environments (example: hot sun, cold, wet weather, etc.)
  • Have full range of mobility in upper and lower body
  • Ability to work in various positions, including, but not limited to, stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling and squatting for extended periods of time during an 8-12-hour day
  • Be able to lift, pull and push materials and equipment to complete assigned job tasks
  • Be able to lift 50 pounds of weight safely without assistance throughout assigned workday
