About the role
We are seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment/Diesel Mechanic to join our team. This individual will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing a wide variety of heavy equipment including excavators, skid steers, backhoes, dump trucks, and support vehicles. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and thrives in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical components, and drivetrains.
- Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, inspections, and part replacements.
- Troubleshoot equipment failures in the field and provide timely repairs to minimize downtime.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, and service reports.
- Operate tools and equipment safely while following company and OSHA safety standards.
- Collaborate with operators, supervisors, and shop personnel to ensure equipment reliability.
- Stay current with industry practices, technology, and diagnostic tools.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a heavy equipment or diesel mechanic
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
- Proficiency in using diagnostic software and tools
- Valid driver’s license (CDL a plus)
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
- Formal training or certification in diesel/heavy equipment mechanics
- Welding and fabrication experience
- Field service repair experience

Pay
$20.75 - $32.50 per hour, based on experience
