Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Job Description and Duties

You will support and manage the day-to-day business operations for Cal OES, which involves working in an office setting. This position requires a valid Driver’s License with a Commercial A or B License, including Tanker and Air Brake endorsement.

Working Conditions

This position is headquartered in Mather, Sacramento County. It is not considered a hybrid telework position.

Minimum Requirements

  • Valid Driver’s License with Commercial A or B License, including Tanker and Air Brake endorsement
  • ASE Certification or equivalent for Vehicle Brakes, Commercial Air Brake Systems, Diagnostics, Hydraulic Pumps/Systems, and Electrical Systems
  • 2 years of Diesel Motor Repair
  • 2 years of Heavy Diesel Equipment Repair and Fire Apparatus Repair
  • 2 years of Gas Engine Repair
  • Tire dismount and install
