Heavy Equipment Mechanic

About the role

At All City Paving, we are seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will inspect, service, and maintain our range of heavy-duty construction equipment.

Responsibilities

• Drive to job sites to inspect engines and equipment
• Carry out services and conduct repairs
• Provide routine maintenance to the construction fleet
• Adjust equipment and replace faulty parts
• Clean, lubricate, and conduct routine services on heavy-duty vehicles
• Clean and service machine attachments like winches, blades, and side booms
• Perform major repair work when necessary
• Consult with other coworkers on smaller jobs
• Report damaged or faulty equipment to management

Requirements

• Proven experience working with heavy machinery
• Physically fit
• Ability to troubleshoot issues on the job site

Qualifications

• Preferred certification as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic
• Proven work experience as a Diesel or Heavy Equipment Mechanic
• Ability to lift heavy machinery
• Extensive knowledge of diesel engines and construction equipment
• Ability to work after-hours if required (not typical)
• Good communication skills
