Heavy Equipment Material Handler

Essential Functions

• Completes Warehousing, Inventory Control, Receiving, Shipping, Product Identification and traceability, and proper material handling and storage tasks.
• Affords assistance with Inventory Cycle Count Program.
• Assists with In-coming materials inspection program.
• Utilizes continuous improvement program.
• Initiates Engineering Change Requests to enhance quality, reduce cycle times, and/or correct nonconformities.
• Complies with Hazardous waste Management requirements.
• Maintains compliance with Quality Management System requirements in accordance with ISO9001.
• Maintains workplace organization to provide a safe and suitable work environment for Broderson employees.
• Performs other job tasks as requested.
• Ensures compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations, policies, and procedures to achieve zero incidents and injuries.
• Communicates consistently on all activities to appropriate individuals (internal and external).
• Maintains ongoing communication and adheres to all Company policies to minimize exposure to liability.

Additional Responsibilities

• May assist in managing the Equipment Maintenance Program.
• Participates in the Plant Safety Program.
• Aids other departments, as needed.
• Participates in Small Group Improvement Activity Teams, daily Team Meetings, and Team Exercise sessions.
• Identifies opportunities for improvements and submits them in accordance with Continuous Improvement Program.

Experience/Training/Education

• Required: High School graduate, or equivalent.
• Desired: Vocational training in Inventory Management, Logistics, or material processing.
• Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Knowledge of Shipping, Receiving, Warehousing, Inventory Control, Cycle counting, Packaging, and Logistics; attention to detail; color recognition; operating and documentation procedures; Microsoft Office products and other data systems; meeting deadlines; following written and verbal instructions; understanding and following posted work rules and procedures; accepting constructive criticism; prioritizing, organizing, solving problems, and completing tasks independently; leading, supervising, and training others; effective communication and cooperative working relationships; accurate hand/eye coordination; finger dexterity; hand strength for grasping, lifting, pushing, and pulling; standing, stooping, bending, or sitting for long periods; lifting parts weighing up to 50 pounds.

Physical And Environmental Elements

• Production classification with exposure to noise and machinery.
• Accurate hand/eye coordination required.
• Finger dexterity required.
• Hand strength necessary for grasping, lifting, pushing, and pulling.
• Significant standing, stooping, bending, or sitting for long periods.
• Lifting parts weighing up to 50 pounds.
