Heavy Equipment Field Technician (Mechanic)

We’re hiring a Heavy Equipment Field Technician at our rental facility in St. Louis, MO. Join us to maintain and repair a variety of customer and company-owned heavy equipment machinery and aerial lifts, working on the newest fleet in the industry.

Schedule

• Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM
• Overtime pay after 40 hours
• Subject to on-call scheduling with additional compensation

Responsibilities

• Use technology (laptops and tablets) to create, assign, and monitor work orders, track machine service intervals, order parts, and diagnose issues by pulling data from hundreds of makes and models
• Practice safe job practices for repairing equipment
• Maintenance and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on rental and customer equipment using independent judgment
• Assist in training lower-level technicians as needed
• Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed daily
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment and parts
• Travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance of rental or customer-owned equipment (Field Mechanic duties); maintain service vehicle professionally
• Knowledge of OSHA requirements (preferred)
• Participate in year-round company-provided OEM training
• Perform other assigned duties

Requirements

• Must own tools applicable to the position
• Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools
• Extensive knowledge of construction equipment with an advanced understanding of schematics and diagrams
• Superior customer service, teamwork, and verbal/written communication skills
• High School diploma (Trade school certificate preferred)
• Experience in field service, maintenance, and repair preferred
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record; must be at least 21 years old to operate company vehicle

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to move, stand, stoop, and bend freely
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
• Field Technicians may be required to be clean-shaven to enter certain customer worksites
• This is a safety-sensitive position; employment contingent on passing a 10-panel drug screen
