Heavy Equipment Field Technician

About the role

The construction equipment group at Alta Equipment Group is seeking a full-time Heavy Equipment Field Technician for their Cranberry Township, PA location.

Responsibilities

• Complete inspections
• Remove and install parts
• Implement of optional accessories
• Maintenance
• Basic diagnosis and troubleshooting
• Testing
• General repairs
• Upkeep of the service truck
• Incorporate Alta's Guiding Principles into daily activities
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Three years of previous heavy equipment or over the road (OTR) repair experience
• Excellent mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of the following systems: engine, power train, hydraulics and electrical
• Possess own tools
• A positive attitude and high energy
• Computer programs - Microsoft Outlook, Case/New Holland EST experience
• Language Skills - Intermediate: Ability to read and interpret documents, write routine reports and correspondence, and speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization
• Mathematical Skills - Basic: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers, multiply and divide with 10's and 100's, and perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance
• Reasoning Ability - Intermediate: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions, deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
