Heavy Equipment/Diesel Mechanic

About the role

AUS Heavy Equipment/Diesel Mechanic is responsible for maintaining and repairing heavy equipment and diesel engines. This includes diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and ensuring all machinery operates safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems of heavy equipment and diesel engines.
• Perform routine maintenance checks to prevent breakdowns and ensure equipment operates safely.
• Follow safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment.
• Communicate effectively with team members and customers regarding equipment status and repair needs.
• Keep up-to-date with industry standards and best practices through training and continuing education.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of experience in heavy equipment/diesel mechanics or related field.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Knowledge of various types of heavy equipment and diesel engines.
• Experience with troubleshooting and repairing complex mechanical systems.
