About the role
AUS Heavy Equipment/Diesel Mechanic is responsible for maintaining and repairing heavy equipment and diesel engines. This includes diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and ensuring all machinery operates safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems of heavy equipment and diesel engines.
- Perform routine maintenance checks to prevent breakdowns and ensure equipment operates safely.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment.
- Communicate effectively with team members and customers regarding equipment status and repair needs.
- Keep up-to-date with industry standards and best practices through training and continuing education.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 2 years of experience in heavy equipment/diesel mechanics or related field.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Knowledge of various types of heavy equipment and diesel engines.
- Experience with troubleshooting and repairing complex mechanical systems.
