Heavy Duty Truck Parts Specialist

Essential Functions/Skills

• Processes supply requests from maintenance technicians
• Affords assistance in researching parts requests and performs research/validation to backorder non-filled issue requests
• Coordinates, arranges, and expedites flow of material, parts between locations
• Evaluates inventory levels, and originates purchase orders to vendors for parts and services as required
• Performs clerical and physical tasks regarding shipping and receiving parts and equipment
• Verifies the correctness of incoming shipments by comparing items received with PO’s and other shipping documents, checks for damaged items, insures items are properly identified in inventory or for distribution to appropriate maintenance activity
• Obtains estimates and price details from different vendors to compare costs
• Maintains up-to-date parts price list
• Keeps shop and work area in a clean and orderly condition
• Willing to work overtime and weekend work when scheduled
• Dependable attendance
• Performs related duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1-2 years of related heavy duty truck parts experience is preferred
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
• Ability to solve daily problems
• Organizational and Computer skills are a requirement
• Willing and able to deal with the customer and company employees in a courteous, professional, and effective manner
• Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
• Willing and able to follow instructions and work independently
• Valid Driver’s License
• Safe driving record verified by Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
• Successfully completed and passed a urine drug screen, hair follicle test, and background screening
