About the role

Responsible for the overall cleanliness of kitchen areas and dishware, tableware, and service ware under the guidance of the Kitchen Supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Cleans according to standards the following items and areas: broilers, deep fryers, grills, ovens, range hoods, ware washing machines, floors, and walk-ins.
• Carefully rinses all dishware, tableware, and service ware for restaurants before sending them through the dish machine.
• Knows and practices Health and Safety standards as set forth by governmental agencies.
• Washes hands at each possible point of contamination.
• Cleans, deck brushes, and mops all kitchen floors.
• Follows 3-compartment sink procedures.
• Weekly de-liming of each dish machine.
• Uses all chemicals according to use and knows where safety data sheets are located.
• Reports any malfunctions of the dishwashing machine (including temperatures too low or too high) or any other type of equipment used.
• Sets up, breaks down, and maintains all dishwashers.
• Empties all trashes and cardboard boxes to the dumpsters.
• Must have the ability to multi-task and communication skills for safety.
• Provides good internal customer service to team members.
• Cleans and maintains all cooks’ lines.
• Performs additional duties as prescribed by supervisors, including but not limited to: cleaning ice machines, hand sinks, refilling paper towels and soap dispensers, using and cleaning floor signs, etc.
• Cleans and changes hood screen filters; familiar with operation of hood and auto cleaning system.
• Checks and refills auto clean system as necessary.
• Cleans all shelving in coolers and storage areas; understands shelving systems and connections—able to take apart and clean thoroughly.
• Pulls out all equipment and cleans underneath and behind.
• Familiar with equipment operation, safe cleaning practices, understanding of hot surfaces, and safe handling of equipment in both prep and kitchen production areas.
• Removes drawers from reach-in cooler units and cleans inside.
• Power washes and scrubs floors weekly.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

• Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Work requires some physical exertion, such as reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, and lifting.

Pay

$17.50–$19.00 per hour
