Heavy Duty Mechanic (Kalispell)

About the role

Knife River is seeking an experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our Kalispell division. The position requires a valid CDL - Class A license, a clean driving record, and experience with heavy truck and equipment repair.

Responsibilities

• Perform significant maintenance and repairs on trucks and all types of equipment.
• Avoid and diagnose truck and equipment maintenance issues.
• Read, interpret, and apply information from technical manuals and schematics.
• Order necessary parts and supplies, and fabricate parts when needed.
• Maintain a safety-minded attitude, accurately complete shop forms, and keep work areas tidy.
• Communicate effectively with others within and outside the company.
• Work independently or as part of a team, handle multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
• Operate company vehicles for field service repairs.
• Provide your own basic hand tools, pneumatics, and specialty tools.
• Work shifts including nights, evenings, and weekends.
• Be flexible to perform other duties assigned by the shop manager.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL - Class A preferred
• Qualified driving record
• Experience with heavy truck and equipment repair
