About the role
Knife River is seeking an experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our Kalispell division. The position requires a valid CDL - Class A license, a clean driving record, and experience with heavy truck and equipment repair.
Responsibilities
- Perform significant maintenance and repairs on trucks and all types of equipment.
- Avoid and diagnose truck and equipment maintenance issues.
- Read, interpret, and apply information from technical manuals and schematics.
- Order necessary parts and supplies, and fabricate parts when needed.
- Maintain a safety-minded attitude, accurately complete shop forms, and keep work areas tidy.
- Communicate effectively with others within and outside the company.
- Work independently or as part of a team, handle multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
- Operate company vehicles for field service repairs.
- Provide your own basic hand tools, pneumatics, and specialty tools.
- Work shifts including nights, evenings, and weekends.
- Be flexible to perform other duties assigned by the shop manager.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL - Class A preferred
- Qualified driving record
- Experience with heavy truck and equipment repair
