Heavy Duty Automotive Technician

Skalnek Ford in Lake Orion, Michigan, is seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Automotive Technician to join their growing service team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for diesel technology, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to providing exceptional service.

Responsibilities

- Tackle a variety of heavy-duty vehicles, including Ford Super Duty trucks, from routine maintenance to complex diagnostics and repairs. - Conduct comprehensive diagnostics on Ford Super Duty trucks and other heavy-duty diesel vehicles using diagnostic equipment and technical manuals. - Execute repairs and maintenance on heavy-duty diesel engines, powertrains, and other vehicle systems according to manufacturer standards. - Perform routine preventative maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid checks. - Maintain accurate service records and document all work performed. - Communicate effectively with service advisors and customers regarding vehicle issues and repair recommendations. - Adhere to all safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Requirements

- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a heavy-duty diesel technician. - Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing Ford Super Duty trucks and other heavy-duty diesel vehicles. - Strong understanding of diesel engine systems, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems. - Ability to perform complex repairs and maintenance independently. - Valid driver's license and a good driving record. - Own set of standard and specialized tools for heavy-duty trucks.

Qualifications

- ASE Certifications (T2-T8) preferred; Master Certification a plus.
