Heavy Cleaner - Part Time - Day

Responsibilities
A day in the life of a Heavy Cleaner at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:
- Clean on a daily basis, patient rooms, communicating in a courteous and friendly manner with patients while performing duties as follows:
- High and low dusting of all vertical surfaces
- Damp wiping of furniture
- Restroom servicing
- Remove refuse (Regulated and Medical Waste)
- Dry and wet mopping of floors or vacuum
- Spot cleans walls if visibly soiled
- Inspection/evaluation of work
- Performs discharge cleaning as per Housekeeping policy and procedure manual.
- Performs daily cleaning procedures in support areas e.g. corridors, utility rooms, pantries, nurses stations, treatment areas according to patient room procedure noted above.
- Gather on a daily basis, necessary supplies and equipment to perform job functions assigned and maintain equipment in an acceptable manner.
- Ensures delivery of excellent customer service resulting in positive and improving patient satisfaction scores for department and Medical Center.
- Perform floor burnishing of floors
- Perform wall washing
- Perform moving of heavy & light equipment
- Perform cubical curtain changing
- Perform window cleaning
- Perform carpet bonnet or extraction shampooing
- Perform upholstery cleaning techniques
- Strip and refinish floors
- Perform cycle cleaning of surgical suites as per Housekeeping policy and procedure manual
- Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.
Pay
Minimum rate of $17.24 hourly. The posted rate of pay is a reasonable good faith estimate of the minimum base pay for this role at the time of posting. The base compensation determined at the time of the offer may vary based on factors including labor market data, experience, education, certifications, skills, geographic location, internal equity, budget, and grant funding.
Certain positions may be eligible for shift differentials for work performed on evening, night, or weekend shifts. Full-time and part-time (20+ hours/week) positions include a comprehensive benefits package, such as health, dental, vision, paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and retirement benefits.
