Responsibilities
- Manage daily heavy civil construction operations including earthwork, utilities, grading, and site development.
- Lead employees on proper safety procedures and enforce compliance with OSHA and company standards.
- Partner with the Operations Manager and HR on employee relations.
- Cook up equipment and pre-job planning to ensure appropriate resource allocation on the job site.
- Confirm foreman reported installed quantities hours from timecards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve field construction issues in collaboration with Project Management to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
- Possess a strong understanding of plans, specifications, and standard practices for heavy civil work.
- Foster relationships with Owners, General Contractors and Subcontractors.
- Aid in the training of foremen and field crew personnel.
- Collaborate with Project Managers on scheduling, cost control, and change order documentation.
Requirements
- Self-directed and motivated; able to manage multiple projects.
- Prior experience as a Foreman or Superintendent preferably on heavy civil projects.
- Strong knowledge of earthwork, underground utilities, grading, and site construction operations.
- Strong knowledge of heavy civil equipment.
- Preferred the knowledge and previous use of Excellent verbal and written communication, conflict management, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Valid Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record.
- Trustworthy and discreet with confidential information.
