Responsibilities

• Manage daily heavy civil construction operations including earthwork, utilities, grading, and site development.
• Lead employees on proper safety procedures and enforce compliance with OSHA and company standards.
• Partner with the Operations Manager and HR on employee relations.
• Cook up equipment and pre-job planning to ensure appropriate resource allocation on the job site.
• Confirm foreman reported installed quantities hours from timecards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve field construction issues in collaboration with Project Management to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
• Possess a strong understanding of plans, specifications, and standard practices for heavy civil work.
• Foster relationships with Owners, General Contractors and Subcontractors.
• Aid in the training of foremen and field crew personnel.
• Collaborate with Project Managers on scheduling, cost control, and change order documentation.

Requirements

• Self-directed and motivated; able to manage multiple projects.
• Prior experience as a Foreman or Superintendent preferably on heavy civil projects.
• Strong knowledge of earthwork, underground utilities, grading, and site construction operations.
• Strong knowledge of heavy civil equipment.
• Preferred the knowledge and previous use of Excellent verbal and written communication, conflict management, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
• Valid Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record.
• Trustworthy and discreet with confidential information.
