Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience managing heavy highway projects (either from the office or in the field)
  • Experience working on Public and Private projects
  • Microsoft Office experience
  • Strong communication skills
  • Must live within 1 hour of the job location

Preferred

  • Civil engineering or construction management degree
  • Experience using estimating software (B2W), accounting software (Spectrum), or project management software (ProjectSight or Procore), and scheduling software (Primavera P6)
  • AutoCAD or Bluebeam experience

What will you do?

Our Heavy Civil/Roadway Project Manager works from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday. You'll be in charge of overseeing, leading, and managing DOT bridge and highway jobs, taking care of the vital elements that keep our projects smooth and successful. Meeting deadlines and ensuring accuracy are crucial parts of the job.

  • Completing quantity take-offs and estimating job costs
  • Negotiating contracts, material prices, and change orders
  • Analyzing production data and updating costs when appropriate
  • Scheduling and establishing timelines
  • Coordinating and submitting shop drawings
  • Ensuring smooth communication between field and office teams
  • Leading project meetings and ensuring all team members are on the same page

  • Frequently stand, walk, or sit for an extended period or for an entire work shift

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for the management of multiple projects (1-4) simultaneously
  • Responsible for project administration, data entry, scope of work development, cost change order estimates, proposals, subcontractor buyout and coordination, scheduling creation, and updates
  • Responsible for CPM scheduling, project cost control, and Risk Management
  • Coordinates with Project Architects, Engineers, Owners, Subcontractors, and Superintendents
  • Management of project execution in accordance with contract requirements and project management procedures
  • Coordinates with subcontractors to arrange and attend site visits, track subcontractor proposals, and enter required data in project management software
  • Responsible for the setup and maintenance of projects in the project management system, but not limited to drawings, submittals, budget, directory, Prime Contracts, commitments, and meeting minutes
  • Reviews subcontractor proposals to ensure compliance with project requirements, scope, and budget
  • Negotiates with subcontractors and prepares detailed subcontractor agreements
  • Responsible for project accounting including invoice review, development and updating cost to data reports, billing projections and client billings
  • Coordinates project close-out, to include punchlist management, obtaining required documentation, assisting pre-final inspections and As-Built drawings
  • Ensures compliance with Company safety guidelines and all local requirements (OSHA)
  • Participation in all superintendent meetings and calls as needed
  • Must have the ability to pass a background check and drug screening test
