About the role

Assists Project Superintendents in various tasks including public relations, claims, subcontractor back charges, and force account work. Ensures project contractor performance rating exceeds 90%. Processes startup documents as per project checklist. Coordinates with subcontractors, schedules surveys and inspections, updates as-built drawings, tracks quantities for accurate payment, manages Blue Stakes, reviews budgets, adjusts job costing, handles change order correspondence, and assists in timely project closeouts. Acts as a liaison between the company and the Project Owner, preparing necessary documents and managing project expenses.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in public relations, claims, subcontractor back charges, and force account work
  • Ensures project contractor performance rating above 90%
  • Processes all documents required to start-up project as outlined in project checklist
  • Sub-contractor coordination, update and maintain C.P.M. under direction of P.M.
  • Schedule survey and inspections for field operations
  • Update and maintain as-Built drawings if required
  • Tracking quantities to ensure accurate payment by Owner
  • Managing Blue Stakes
  • Reviewing budgets and adjusting job costing
  • Managing change order correspondence and tracking
  • Aids in timely and accurate project closeouts
  • Acts as a company liaison with Project Owner and all Subcontractors
  • Prepares RFI’s, submittals and transmittals, change order log and serial letters timely and accurately
  • Track project expenses and record them in Heavy Job/Viewpoint on a weekly basis

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year College, technical school or university in Engineering or Construction Management
  • 4+ years of project engineer experience with in commercial construction company
  • 4+ years of project engineer experience with technical tasks (collect, connect and report on multiple data points daily and reconcile reports, tracking quantities, RFIs, Change orders, etc.)
  • 2+ years (preferably) engineer experience with deep foundations / pile and shoring
  • Knowledge of field concepts, practices, procedures pertaining to commercial construction
  • Self-motivated and capable of working with limited supervision and as a team player
  • Ability to work well under pressure, meet tight, multiple, and sometimes conflicting deadlines
