Heart Station Technician

This position is designated as safety-sensitive and cannot be filled by a candidate who is a current user of medical marijuana. Flu vaccines are required.

About the role

Full-time (40 hrs/wk) day shift with a rotating start time (7am, 8am, or 8:30am). No nights, weekends, holidays, or call.

Responsibilities

• Performs Electrocardiograms (EKGs). Processes results, reviews charges, and communicates with interpreting physicians when there are system issues.
• Applies and scans Holter and event monitors. Manages return of monitors and communicates with families when monitors are overdue.
• Performs Cardiac stress tests with overseeing Providers. Manages order to completed reports.
• Assists with pacemaker evaluation and Paceart Evaluations.
• Ensures billing is completed in a timely fashion.
• Maintains and inspects departmental equipment daily for cleanliness or any malfunctions.
• Completes patient care (may include vital signs, heights, weights, head circumference, and other patient care-related assignments) in a safe, efficient, and timely manner.
• Documents patient care and other assignments according to department guidelines and assists with admission, transfer, and discharge as directed by licensed staff.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED (or 2 years of experience in lieu of a diploma/GED).
• Basic understanding of cardiac arrhythmias.
• Helps with triage of patients in clinic, performs EKGs, applies and scans Holters and Event monitors, and performs Cardiac Stress Testing.
• Prepares Pacemaker/ICD electronic transmissions for interpretation.

Qualifications

• Recommended: Associate's Degree in a related field of study.
• Recommended: Prior work experience in a related field.

Pay

Most new hires start between $18.30-$22.80 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
