About the role

This position is responsible for providing educational services to students who are hearing impaired.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students based on their unique needs and abilities.
• Collaborate with other special education professionals to ensure comprehensive support for students.
• Provide direct instruction in specialized areas such as sign language, auditory training, and assistive technology.
• Assist students in accessing general education curriculum through appropriate accommodations and modifications.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to student progress and IEP goals.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field.
• Valid Florida teaching certificate in Special Education.
• Experience working with students who are hearing impaired preferred.
• Knowledge of assistive technologies and strategies for supporting hearing-impaired students.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Skills

• Sign language proficiency.
• Knowledge of auditory training techniques.
• Experience with assistive listening devices.

Pay

• $14.00 per hour.
