Hearing Aid Specialist

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive hearing evaluations and hearing screenings.
  • Explain test results and educate patients on hearing health and treatment options.
  • Recommend appropriate hearing aid solutions based on each patient's needs and lifestyle.
  • Fit, program, adjust, and troubleshoot hearing aids from various manufacturers.
  • Provide follow-up care, fine-tuning, maintenance, and counseling to ensure optimal device performance and patient satisfaction.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on the proper use, care, and maintenance of hearing devices.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and patient records in accordance with regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with audiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
  • Schedule follow-up appointments and support day-to-day clinic operations.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service while building long-term patient relationships.

Qualifications

  • Active Hearing Aid Specialist license (or eligibility for licensure in the state of practice).
  • Experience performing hearing evaluations, audiometric testing, and hearing aid fittings.
  • Strong knowledge of hearing aid programming, verification, troubleshooting, and follow-up care.
  • Excellent patient counseling and communication skills.
  • Strong customer service and relationship-building abilities.
  • Experience using hearing aid programming software and electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a hearing healthcare clinic, audiology practice, ENT clinic, or similar medical setting.
  • Experience working with multiple hearing aid manufacturers and programming platforms.
  • Familiarity with hearing conservation, tinnitus counseling, and balance-related services is a plus.
