Organizational Support Responsibilities

Work Role Responsibilities
- Works with individuals with a substance use disorder by providing a clinical assessment, formulating a plan of treatment, and conducting treatment services.
- Treatment services may be in individual, group therapy, family therapy, or in psycho-educational offerings, and/or coordinating with patient navigators in making a referral to other helping agencies.
- Coordinate services with providers, patient navigators, and recovery coaches and be a consultant for those external agencies set forth by federal and state laws, i.e., courts and law enforcement.
- Continually assess the individual needs of their patient and patient’s families and reflect these needs in staffing, evaluations, treatment plans, and chart progress notes.
- Timely documentation of all reports for client charts as well as billing documents in accordance with policy.
- Provides feedback to Director and Administration to improve patient flow and outcomes.
- Serves on various committees and performs other duties as assigned.
Department Specific
- Therapists should be able to demonstrate and consistently practice competency in the skills, knowledge and attitudes as outlined in Addiction Counseling Competencies: The Knowledge, Skills, And Attitudes of Professional Practice (CSAT TAP #21, 2006).
Required Qualifications
- Education: Master’s Degree from an accredited institution
- Experience: Two years of experience preferably in addiction medicine
Preferred Qualifications
- Education: Graduate from an accredited master’s program in Counseling, Social Work, or Psychology preferred.
- Experience: Two years of experience preferably in addiction medicine. Experience in treating substance use disorders, group process, and conducting individual psychotherapy including the development of person centered treatment plans preferred
