About the role
The Federal Health Technology Solutions Architect at Guidehouse serves as the senior technical authority responsible for shaping, articulating, and defending mission-aligned technology solutions in support of programs and initiatives across the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and its Operating Divisions.
Responsibilities
- Guide and develop end-to-end technology solutions for federal health programs and pursuits, from early concept through proposal and into initial delivery.
- Translate HHS and Operating Division mission priorities into clear, credible, and defensible solution architectures.
- Define architectural strategies for leveraging, modernizing, integrating, or replacing existing federal enterprise and mission systems based on mission value, technical risk, and cost.
- Lead technical capture activities, including RFIs, RFPs, and oral proposals.
- Develop solution architectures, technical narratives, and diagrams that are delivery-ready and executable.
- Coordinate across cloud, data, analytics, AI, cybersecurity, and platform teams to assemble integrated, compliant federal health solutions.
- Participate in early delivery phases, ensuring fidelity to the proposed solution and effective transition from capture to execution.
- Act as a trusted technical advisor to government stakeholders and internal leadership through technical credibility, solution quality, and delivery discipline.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university; years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- Must be able to OBTAIN and MAINTAIN a Federal or DoD "PUBLIC TRUST"; candidates must obtain approved adjudication of their PUBLIC TRUST prior to onboarding with Guidehouse.
- Candidates must be located within the United States and US Citizens.
- 10+ years of experience serving as a Solutions Architect with demonstrated leadership on large-scale programs.
- Proven experience as a Federal Solutions Architect, with exposure to federal health or human services environments strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of technologies used across federal health enterprise and program-level architectures, including: Public health, research, and mission systems; Grants, financial assistance, and program management platforms; Data platforms, analytics, and system integrations; Enterprise business and mission support systems.
- Demonstrated experience modernizing enterprise and mission systems within federal civilian agencies, including cloud adoption, data integration, and platform rationalization.
- Deep familiarity with federal health IT standards, security, privacy, and compliance frameworks.
- Demonstrated ability to architect solutions using modern cloud, data, analytics, and AI technologies commonly deployed in large-scale federal environments.
- Evidence of recent and ongoing professional development demonstrating currency with today's technologies, including: Cloud architecture and cloud native application patterns; Advanced data platforms, analytics, and data engineering; AI enabled analytics and data-driven mission platforms; Cybersecurity, zero trust, and federal compliance frameworks; Platform modernization and digital transformation.
- Ability to clearly articulate end-to-end solution approaches that connect architecture decisions to mission outcomes, delivery execution, risk, and cost.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience engaging senior government and executive audiences.
- Ability to operate effectively across delivery, pricing, and business development teams, including contribution to technical pricing strategies and cost models.
