Healthcare Security Officer - Danbury

About the role

The Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for clients by actively monitoring the premises, including patrolling various locations. This role involves enforcing regulations and directives for personnel, visitors, and the area.

Responsibilities

• Monitor entrances, exits, and overall facility activity
• Greet and assist patients, visitors, and staff in a professional, helpful manner
• Conduct interior and exterior patrols to deter and detect safety or security issues
• Enforce facility rules, regulations, and access control policies
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and emergency situations according to site procedures
• Complete clear, accurate incident reports and daily activity logs
• Report safety hazards, security risks, and unusual conditions promptly
• Maintain order in waiting areas, ensuring safe occupancy and clear egress routes
• Support ED staff with managing high-stress situations, including upset or disruptive visitors or patients
• Aid in visitor management, including check-in, screening, and enforcing visitation rules
• Assist with patient watch/observation duties when requested and allowed by policy (non-clinical support only)
• Support lockdowns or restricted access situations in the ED when required
• Coordinate with hospital staff and, when needed, local law enforcement or emergency responders

Requirements

No experience necessary! A background in retail, food service, or hospitality is preferred but not required. Training will be provided.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent. Must be able to pass a background check and drug test. Must be able to work nights and weekends.

Skills

Attention to detail, strong communication skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and a positive attitude are essential.

Pay

$19.50 per hour

Schedule

Monday–Thursday: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Friday: 5:00 AM – 1:00 PM
