Healthcare Portfolio Financial / Value Manager
Role Overview
The Portfolio Financial / Value Manager is responsible for leading financial governance, value realization, and performance measurement of strategic investments across the enterprise portfolio. This role partners closely with portfolio, finance, PMO, and business leaders to evaluate investment opportunities, build and validate business cases, establish value targets, and track realization against expected outcomes. The Manager will provide analytical leadership across roadmap planning, funding decisions, execution oversight, and post-implementation benefit measurement, ensuring that strategic initiatives deliver measurable financial and operational value.
Responsibilities
- Leads development, validation, and ongoing maintenance of CBAs and business cases for strategic investments, including assumptions, financial impacts, risks, and dependencies
- Partners with FP&A, HVO, EPMO, and business leaders to prioritize investments based on strategic alignment, expected value, affordability, and execution readiness
- Designs and maintains the processes, tools, and governance routines needed to identify, baseline, measure, and realize financial and operational value across the Enterprise portfolio
- Collaborate with PMO, finance, and delivery leaders to monitor initiative performance, track milestone achievement, and ensure visibility of value realization through governance forums
- Led and develops team members responsible for portfolio analytics, financial reporting, benefits tracking, and management insights
- Builds and manages value tracking frameworks that monitor expected versus realized benefits, ensuring approved financial value is reconciled, reported, and incorporated into planning and forecasting processes
- Prepares dashboards, executive summaries, and KPI reporting that communicate portfolio health, benefit realization, investment performance, and decision-ready insights to senior leadership
Requirements
This is a 100% remote position but you must live in EST or CST time zones
Qualifications
- At least three (3) + years of experience in finance, portfolio management, value realization, FP&A, or business case development
- At least five (5) + years of experience in corporate planning, strategy, finance, or program and portfolio management in a complex organization
- At least five (5) + years of health care, payer, provider, or similarly regulated industry experience preferred
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience

- Proven ability to lead financial and value realization efforts across complex strategic initiatives and cross-functional portfolios
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate financial insights clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
- Strong facilitation and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to align leaders around assumptions, trade-offs, priorities, and value outcomes
- Strong analytical capabilities with experience in financial modeling, scenario analysis, forecasting, and performance measurement
- Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to synthesize complex data into practical recommendations and actions
- Demonstrated ability to influence decision-making and challenge assumptions effectively with senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders
- Advanced knowledge of portfolio governance, KPI development, benefits realization methods, and quantitative and qualitative performance analysis
- Strong partnership orientation and customer focus when working with direct reports, peers, finance partners, and business stakeholders
- Strong understanding of corporate finance, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and business case development
