Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of materials management, purchasing, inventory control, or supply chain experience in a healthcare setting required
- Ambulatory Surgery Center, hospital, or cardiovascular services experience preferred
- Knowledge of medical and surgical supplies, equipment, and inventory management systems
- Experience with purchasing systems, inventory software, and electronic record systems
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and vendor management abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment
Responsibilities
- Manage the procurement, receipt, storage, and distribution of medical supplies and equipment
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels to support daily operations and surgical case requirements
- Monitor inventory utilization and implement processes to reduce waste and control costs
- Coordinate purchasing activities and maintain effective relationships with vendors and suppliers
- Ensure timely ordering and replenishment of supplies while avoiding stock shortages and overstock situations
- Verify accuracy of shipments and resolve discrepancies with vendors as needed
- Conduct routine inventory counts and assist with annual physical inventories
- Monitor product expiration dates and ensure proper stock rotation
- Collaborate with clinical leadership and physicians regarding product selection, standardization, and utilization
- Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements, infection prevention standards, and organizational policies
- Track supply expenses and assist leadership with budgeting and cost containment initiatives
- Ensure all supplies and equipment are stored safely and organized appropriately
- Support new product evaluations and implementation of supply chain best practices
- Prepare reports related to inventory, purchasing, and supply utilization as requested
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of surgical center operations
