Healthcare & Life Sciences Solutions Architect, AI Solutions, HCLS
At Amazon Web Services (AWS), we are seeking a Healthcare & Life Sciences (HCLS) Solutions Architect to join our HCLS organization within AWS Industries. In this role, you will help shape and deliver our strategy for global HCLS customers and partners, working with some of the world's largest healthcare and life sciences companies to design cloud architectures that address their industry-specific business challenges and accelerate the adoption of AWS services.
About the role
As a Solutions Architect, you will be at the forefront of helping customers succeed using AWS technologies — linking technology with measurable business value for healthcare and life sciences organizations. You will have technical depth, business aptitude, and the ability to lead in-depth technology discussions with Enterprise Architects, Technical Architects, Cloud Architects, Directors, VPs, and CXOs.
You will craft highly scalable, flexible, and resilient cloud architectures, assist organizations in understanding best practices around advanced cloud-based solutions, and help migrate existing workloads to the cloud. You will define or invent cloud-native reference architectures for use cases such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Generative AI, Serverless and Container-based architectures, Analytics and Big Data, DevOps, and Security.
In collaboration with account management, professional services, support, product teams, and the AWS partner ecosystem, you will formulate and execute strategies to build mindshare and broad use of AWS within enterprise customers.
Responsibilities
- Ensure success in building and migrating applications, software, and services on the AWS platform for Healthcare and Life Sciences customers.
- Partner with account management to formulate and execute customer engagement strategies that drive meaningful cloud adoption outcomes.
- Build prototypes, proofs of concept, and demonstration assets showcasing AWS capabilities — particularly in AI/ML, Generative AI, and data analytics — tailored to HCLS use cases.
- Educate customers on the AWS value proposition, participate in deep architectural discussions, and conduct enablement sessions to accelerate their path to production.
- Stay current on emerging AI/ML technologies and cloud-native patterns, translating that knowledge into actionable guidance, reference architectures, and customer-facing publications such as whitepapers.
- Build deep relationships with senior technical individuals within customer organizations, enabling them to become cloud advocates.
- Serve as a technical liaison between customers, service engineering teams, and support, while capturing and sharing best-practice knowledge across the AWS Solutions Architect community.
A day in the life
Your morning starts with a customer call — whiteboarding a cloud migration strategy for a global pharma company. Mid-morning, you're building a Generative AI prototype that shows how a life sciences customer could accelerate drug discovery. After lunch, you join an architecture review with the account team, then lead a hands-on workshop walking a hospital system through HIPAA-compliant deployments on AWS. Between meetings, you're sketching a reference architecture for a new ML pipeline, trading ideas with fellow SAs in Slack, and jotting down notes for a whitepaper. No two days look the same.
Requirements
- 2+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience.
- 4+ years of experience in specific technology domain areas (e.g., software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics).
- 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working within software development or Internet-related industries.
- Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud.
- Experience working with AWS technologies from a dev/ops perspective.
