About the Opportunity
The Healthcare Data Scientist role focuses on advancing the organization's data and analytics platform to generate measurable financial and clinical results for clients. This position is responsible for developing and scaling analytical capabilities that enhance client decision-making and support the integration of AI-enabled drug management tools. The role involves working with diverse healthcare data sets to uncover insights, build predictive models, and translate complex data into actionable strategies.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain predictive, statistical, and machine learning models to meet business and client needs.
- Analyze pharmacy, medical claims, and other healthcare data to identify trends and opportunities.
- Assist with initiatives related to AI roadmap development.
- Prepare, clean, transform, and validate data for analytics and reporting.
- Write clean, reusable analytical code following team standards.
- Maintain reference tables and data sets within the analytics platform.
- Use SQL and Python to extract, manipulate, and analyze large data sets.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements and deliver insights.
- Document analytical processes, assumptions, and model logic.
- Communicate findings through reports, presentations, and dashboards.
- Stay updated on developments in healthcare analytics and related technologies.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years experience in data science, analytics, or a related field, preferably in healthcare or pharmaceuticals.
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative discipline; advanced degree or relevant coursework preferred.
- Experience with healthcare data sets including pharmacy, PBM, and medical claims.
- Proficient in SQL for data querying and manipulation.
- Skilled in Python or R for data analysis and model development.
- Solid understanding of statistics and machine learning techniques.
- Ability to clean, validate, and analyze complex data accurately.
- Strong problem-solving skills and intellectual curiosity.
- Effective communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite; advanced Excel skills are a plus.
- Willingness to travel up to 10%.
- Preferred: experience with healthcare cost/utilization analytics, predictive modeling, data privacy, HIPAA compliance, and reporting automation.
