About the role

The Healthcare Coordinator (HC) partners with supported Dentists to help gain a financial commitment from patients to start the best course of treatment with urgency. Key responsibilities include understanding and utilizing financial options to support case acceptance, educating patients on treatment choices, overcoming common patient objections, and proactively keeping Dentist’s schedules productive. The HC supports each patient in a consultative and educational manner while maintaining a Perfect Patient Experience (PPE) and creating Patients for Life (PFL).

Responsibilities

  • Model company culture, values, standards, and best operational practices based on the We Believe Behavioral Framework.
  • Gain a financial commitment from the patient to start the dentistry that the Dentist is diagnosing.
  • Achieve proficiency in PDS system and tools to assist patients in making the best possible decision for their unique needs.
  • Execute the HC Handoff in partnership with each clinician on every exam patient.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert on all available financial options to give patients choices that fit their budget.
  • Professionally overcome common patient objections to starting treatment.
  • Obtain necessary insurance pre-authorizations for patients who need this prior to completing treatment.
  • Ensure the office exemplifies the Comprehensive Care Model within the offices as well as referrals outside the office.
  • Actively participate in daily morning huddles, monthly team meetings, and other required meetings.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of business imperatives and how the role directly impacts metrics and results.
  • Demonstrate stewardship of the PDS Brand, making decisions consistent with the PDS Brand framework.
  • Become knowledgeable on the Mouth Body Connection and support clinical excellence through comprehensive patient care.
  • Maintain an appropriate professional appearance and demeanor in accordance with company policies; address others professionally and respectfully.
  • Ensure compliance with Company policies, as well as State, Federal, and other regulatory bodies.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Travel might be required between offices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior coursework or on-the-job training in dentistry, insurance, or business.
