About the Role
Withum’s Auditing and Attest Engagement services are the cornerstone of our firm. Our audit and advisory team provides audit services, review and compilation services, and other agreed-upon audit procedures to a variety of client sizes and industries. The successful candidate will work exclusively with Withum’s Healthcare Services group, providing audit services to healthcare organizations alongside seasoned CPAs and industry leaders.
Responsibilities
- Lead the engagement team on the planning and execution of audit, review, or compilation engagements to deliver world-class client service.
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the audit engagement, including staffing, planning, risk assessment, fieldwork, financial reporting, and conclusion.
- Provide supervision and support to engagement staff, seniors, and supervisors, fostering open communication with the engagement partner.
- Collaborate with engagement team seniors, supervisors, and partners on client issue resolution and recommend solutions for legal, regulatory, and accounting issues arising during audits.
- Manage multiple engagements concurrently with various teams to meet client deadlines efficiently.
- Create and track engagement budgets to identify and address inefficiencies during the audit process.
- Conduct constructive discussions with team members regarding evaluations and provide mentorship.
- Serve as an instructor or discussion leader in professional development programs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
- CPA license, or actively working toward CPA certification with parts passed.
- At least 3 years of public accounting experience, including leading multiple engagements and supervising staff.
- Experience serving clients in the healthcare industry, such as healthcare systems, hospitals, post-acute care facilities, and both for-profit and not-for-profit entities.
- Understanding of uniform guidance as it relates to healthcare organizations.
- Familiarity with US GAAP and strong analytical, technical, and auditing skills.
- Exceptional client service and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain client relationships.
- Strong leadership, training, and mentoring skills, coupled with excellent verbal, written, and presentation abilities.
- Excellent organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to travel as needed.
Pay
Compensation for this position varies by location:
- Whippany, NJ: $100,000 – $135,000 annually.
- New York City: $112,500 – $165,000 annually.
In addition to base compensation, Withum offers a competitive benefits package and a bonus program (for eligible roles) based on individual and firm performance.
