The Role
The successful candidate will join the Health and Physical Education Department at Cambridge Rindge & Latin School, teaching Physical Education and Wellness to students in grades 9-12.Responsibilities
- Teach Wellness education according to the SHAPE America National PE Standards.
- Engage students in relevant learning experiences that promote health and active lifestyles.
- Empower students to take ownership of their health and contribute to the wellness of their communities.
- Work collaboratively with the Coordinator of Health, Physical Education and Wellness, the department lead teacher, and small learning community administrators.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience and/or education in secondary Health and Physical Education.
- Successful teaching experience in an urban setting is preferred.
- Required Massachusetts Certification in 5-12 Physical Education.
- Required Massachusetts Certification in K-12 Health and Family/Consumer Science.
- Experience leading instruction in multicultural and urban community settings.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, alongside the ability to establish and maintain effective and collaborative working relationships with a diverse staff and student body.

- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of a variety of students.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with best practices in health and physical education.
