Health & Wellness Teacher, One-year Appointment, CRLS

The Role

The successful candidate will join the Health and Physical Education Department at Cambridge Rindge & Latin School, teaching Physical Education and Wellness to students in grades 9-12.

Responsibilities

• Teach Wellness education according to the SHAPE America National PE Standards.
• Engage students in relevant learning experiences that promote health and active lifestyles.
• Empower students to take ownership of their health and contribute to the wellness of their communities.
• Work collaboratively with the Coordinator of Health, Physical Education and Wellness, the department lead teacher, and small learning community administrators.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Experience and/or education in secondary Health and Physical Education.
• Successful teaching experience in an urban setting is preferred.
• Required Massachusetts Certification in 5-12 Physical Education.
• Required Massachusetts Certification in K-12 Health and Family/Consumer Science.
• Experience leading instruction in multicultural and urban community settings.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, alongside the ability to establish and maintain effective and collaborative working relationships with a diverse staff and student body.
