About the Role

CCBC’s School of Continuing Education offers classes focused on life enrichment, workforce development, and community education. The part-time adjunct Health and Wellness Instructor teaches college-level non-credit courses to adult students on diverse topics related to physical and mental well-being. Classes are designed and led by the instructor, with an average of 1-3 classes per semester, offered during day, evening, or weekend hours at multiple campuses or online.

Responsibilities

  • Design and update course materials to align with learning objectives.
  • Develop lesson plans and organize instructional materials, resources, and technology for in-person and/or online instruction.
  • Maintain open communication with students, administrators, and coordinators regarding course updates and concerns.
  • Deliver engaging and effective classroom or online instruction using diverse teaching methods.
  • Complete all required administrative duties on time, including submitting attendance data and paperwork.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED (required).
  • Academic degrees or professional credentials in a related discipline (preferred).
  • Subject matter expertise with demonstrated knowledge relevant to the courses being taught.
  • Relevant certifications or credentials (if applicable) required to teach the courses.
  • Experience teaching or training in an adult setting (preferred).
  • Computer proficiency.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience working with a diverse population.
