Health Unit Coordinator-Inpatient Hospice Care Center

About the role

Come join Cleveland Clinic Justin T. Rogers Hospice Care Center where you can make a difference in the community every day. At this facility, our caregivers help prepare patients and their families physically, emotionally and spiritually prepare for the end of life. Here, you will work alongside compassionate physicians, nurses and other healthcare staff to offer patients support and comfort as they adjust to the hospice environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct an in-person greeting, welcome and orientation to the unit for newly admitted and transferred patients.
• Respond to patient call lights and make rounds.
• Absorb and process patient admissions, transfers and discharges.
• Assist patients and families with wayfinding and direct them to available resources.
• Assemble and maintain patient medical records and other documents related to patient care.
• Assist with unit clerical functions and in trouble-shooting equipment failures, such as call system, portable phones, WOWs and other unit devices.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• One year of experience in a customer service-related role
• Experience with typing, computer training or equivalent coursework

• College degree
• Microsoft Office experience

Physical Requirements

• Requires full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
• Requires frequent data entry, standing and walking for extensive periods of time.
• Requires normal or corrected speech, hearing and vision.
• Requires some exposure to communicable disease or body fluids.

Pay Range

• Minimum hourly: $18.25
• Maximum hourly: $24.95
