Health Unit Coordinator - F4/4: Trauma Surgical IMC

Work Schedule

Work Schedule: 90 FTE, 36 hours per week. This is a Day/Evening position with variable (8) eight, and (12) twelve-hour shifts between the hours of 0700-1930. Every third weekend rotation required. Holiday's required. Hours may vary based on operational needs of department.

About the Role

We are seeking a Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) to:

• Manage and facilitate the day-to-day operations of a unit.
• Answer phones, organize files, order supplies, handle correspondence, manage databases, and provide general support to patients, family members and other staff.
• Ensure that everything runs smoothly and efficiently by utilizing excellent communication and organizational skills to support patient care.
• Collaborate with the clinical team to coordinate all aspects of patient care including patient admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Maintain accurate electronic health records and perform other duties of a clerical nature.

Qualifications

• A High School Diploma Required
• 1 year of experience in a medical or customer service environment or experience of a similar nature Required
• 1 year of experience in a medical environment Preferred
