Health System Med Access Coordinator
About the role
The Medication Access Coordinator plays a vital role in facilitating patients' access to various financial resources for medications. Responsibilities include evaluating the financial circumstances of uninsured or under-insured patients, ensuring adherence to regulatory compliance, and upholding patient confidentiality and dignity. The coordinator determines eligibility for medication assistance or financial aid and collaborates closely with the Clinical Team to mitigate unnecessary financial losses linked to high-cost medications. As a patient advocate, the coordinator resolves issues related to medication payment and coverage.
Key tasks involve conducting thorough patient interviews to assess potential qualification for Medication Assistance Programs and Foundations, reviewing health and prescription insurance, financial status, and required documentation.
