About the role
The Health Specialist, Early Head Start Flemington plays a crucial role in providing comprehensive health services to families enrolled in the program. This includes conducting health assessments, administering immunizations, and offering nutrition education.
Responsibilities
- Conduct health screenings and assessments for infants and toddlers
- Administer routine immunizations according to CDC guidelines
- Provide nutrition education and counseling to families
- Document all health-related activities and progress in client files
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Nursing, or related field
- Current certification as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Experience working with young children and their families
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Qualifications
- Knowledge of early childhood development and health issues
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
