Health Services Data Analyst
Location: This role requires associates be in the office 1-2 days per week, fostering collaboration and connectivity, while providing flexibility to support productivity and work-life balance. Candidates must live in the state of Connecticut and be within a reasonable commuting distance from the posting location(s), unless an accommodation is granted as required by law. About the role
This position supports Connecticut HUSKY Health Medicaid behavioral health services, quality measurement, and performance improvement, including major initiatives such as Rural Health Transformation, the 1115 Substance Use Waiver, the CCBHC, and the statewide Behavioral Health Homes (BHH).
Responsibilities
- Creates and maintains databases to track business performance.
- Analyzes data and summarizes performance using summary statistical procedures.
- Develops and analyzes business performance reports (e.g., for claims data, provider data, utilization data) and provides notations of performance deviations and anomalies.
- Creates and publishes periodic reports, makes necessary recommendations, and develops ad hoc reports as needed.
- Devises diagnostic and/or tracking data to translate business requirements into usable decision-support tools.
- Supports the Connecticut Initiative through data analysis, reporting, and quality-measurement activities.
- Develops, maintains, and enhances provider-facing dashboards to support performance monitoring and quality improvement.
- Collaborates with the Behavioral Health Home team to develop and maintain Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services behavioral health home core-set measures and reporting specifications.
- Responds to provider dashboard questions, delivers training on dashboard functionality and data interpretation, and communicates findings to internal stakeholders and provider organizations.
Requirements
- BS/BA degree in a related field and a minimum of 2 years of related operational and/or data analysis experience, including experience in database structures and standard query and reporting tools; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.
Preferred Skills
- Experience using SAS statistical software to analyze data and create queries.
- Experience developing, maintaining, and enhancing interactive Tableau dashboards and data visualizations.
- Medicaid claims experience, preferably involving behavioral health claims data.
- Knowledge of the behavioral health system of care in Connecticut.
- Moderate to advanced Excel skills.
- Experience analyzing program outcomes and performance trends to identify quality-improvement opportunities.
- Experience presenting data findings and providing dashboard training to internal stakeholders, state partners, and provider organizations.
- Knowledge of Medicaid quality measures, behavioral health home core-set measures, and integrated care programs.

Schedule
